Asianfin -- At China's largest air show in Zhuhai on Wednesday, Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer announced its focus on strengthening its supply chain, with a key role for Chinese companies.
Embraer, the world’s third-largest plane maker, specializes in single-aisle regional and executive jets with capacities of up to 150 seats. The company competes with Airbus' A220, while trailing behind the A320 and 737 families in sales.
Martyn Holmes, Embraer's Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted the upcoming visit of China's President Xi Jinping to Brazil, ahead of the G20 summit this month. "This is an exciting moment for us to engage with Chinese suppliers and explore how we can evolve together," Holmes remarked.
China is Brazil's largest trading partner, and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has expressed interest in discussing a "long-term strategic partnership" with China.
