Hong Kong Monetary Authority Cuts Interest Rate by 25 Basis Points

Asianfin – The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) has reduced its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points to 5%, following a similar 25 basis-point rate cut announced overnight by the U.S. Federal Reserve. This move aligns Hong Kong’s rate policy with that of the U.S., reflecting the city’s currency peg to the U.S. dollar.
