Asianfin -- Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump warned on Tuesday that the European Union would "pay a big price" for not purchasing enough American exports if he wins the upcoming November 5 election.
Speaking at a rally in Pennsylvania, a key battleground state, Trump criticized the EU's trade practices, saying, “The European Union sounds so nice, so lovely, right? All those nice little European countries coming together." He added, “They don’t take our cars; they don’t take our farm products. Yet they sell millions of cars in the United States. No, they’re going to have to pay a big price.”
Trump reiterated his plan to implement a "Trump Reciprocal Trade Act" and impose a 10% tariff on imports from all nations, along with a 60% tariff on imports from China. Economists warn these measures would likely disrupt global supply chains, trigger retaliatory tariffs, and drive up costs.
