AsianFin -- WeChat is reportedly in the gray testing phase of an AI Q&A feature, according to exclusive insights from Titanium Media. Sources reveal that the product is currently being tested with a limited user group, with plans to gradually expand access.
During testing, users with access can input questions in the WeChat search bar to trigger AI responses. For instance, asking "How did the A-shares perform today?" yields a response in about 20 seconds, generating approximately 400 words and providing five reference articles from WeChat official accounts. The current references are primarily sourced from these accounts.
The feature reportedly utilizes Tencent's internal technological resources, including the Hunyuan large model. Earlier, an independent app called "Yuanbao," which also integrates Hunyuan, displayed content from the WeChat ecosystem, suggesting a potential link between the two.
As generative AI continues to penetrate various scenarios, social media platforms are exploring "AI search" functionalities. Besides WeChat, platforms like Weibo and Douyin have already launched similar smart search features, with Meta also testing related capabilities.
