Asianfin--Chinese stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 2.55 percent to 3,217.74 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 3.92 percent lower at 10,060.74 points.
The combined turnover of China's Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses reached 1.57 trillion yuan (about 222.25 billion U.S. dollars), down from 2.14 trillion yuan recorded on the previous trading day.
Shares related to the cross-border payment and precious metal sectors led the gains, while the wind power equipment and shipbuilding industries suffered major losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 5.06 percent to close at 2,100.87 points.
