Asianfin--China's top three LCD panel manufacturers—BOE, TCL China Star Optoelectronics Technology, and HKC—are set to halt production for up to two weeks around the National Day holiday in early October in a strategic move to boost declining prices. The prices have been on a downward trend since July.
According to Rong Chaoping, research director at market research institute AVC Revo, the three companies informed their television manufacturing clients in early August about the extended production shutdown planned for the National Day holiday, which spans from October 1 to October 7.
BOE is expected to close its large-size LCD display production lines located in Hefei, Wuhan, Fuzhou, and Chengdu from September 26 to October 9. Additionally, its Beijing factory, which manufactures both IT displays and TV panels, will undergo a 12-day closure. This strategic pause in production aims to stabilize and potentially elevate the prices of LCD panels amidst market fluctuations.
