Asianfin--Intel Corp has qualified for up to $3.5 billion in federal grants to manufacture semiconductors for the U.S. Department of Defense, Bloomberg News reported on Friday.

This development follows Intel's recent binding agreement with U.S. officials, according to sources familiar with the matter.
