Number of Cryptocurrency Millionaires Soars 95% in Past Year

Sep. 3, 2024  02:31

AsianFin – The number of cryptocurrency millionaires globally surged by 95% as of August 2024, reaching 172,300 individuals, according to a joint report by New World Wealth and Henley & Partners.

The number of people holding more than $1 million in Bitcoin assets increased by 103%, totaling 85,400 individuals, the report said.

The report also highlights that the number of individuals with cryptocurrency assets exceeding $100 million has risen to 325, while the number of cryptocurrency billionaires has grown to 28, an increase of six from the previous year. This remarkable growth is largely attributed to the successful launch and rapid development of Bitcoin ETFs. Since their approval in January 2024, Bitcoin ETF assets have surpassed $50 billion, significantly boosting institutional investor participation.
