The United Arab Emirates closed its airspace as Israel and U.S. conducted military strikes on Iran on Saturday.

The disruption will have a major effect on global air travel as the country is home to both the long-haul carriers Emirates and Etihad.

Israel and the United States launched major military operations over Iran on Saturday morning. Explosions were heard across the Irani capital of Tehran. Iran has launched the "first wave' of missle and drone attacks on Israel in retaliation.
