The Tariff Commission of China's cabinet State Council announced on Friday that China will not imposea dditional 100% tariffs on canola meal and peas originating from Canada, nor a 25% tariff on lobsters and crabs originating from Canada, from March 1 to December 31, 2026.
It marks an adjustment to the tariff measures stipulated in the "Announcement of the Tariff Commission of the State Council on the Imposition of Tariffs on Certain Imported Goods Originating from Canada" (Announcement No. 3 of 2025).
This adjustment is beneficial for deepening China-Canada economic and trade cooperation, promoting healthy, stable, and sustainable development of China-Canada economic and trade relations, according to the commission.
