Several major Asian banks are reportedly preparing to bid for HSBC's retail business assets in Indonesia, aiming to continue their expansion in Southeast Asia's largest economy, according to reports.

The banks willing to bid for the assets include Singapore's DBS Group, OCBC Bank, and UOB, as well as Malaysia's CIMB Group Holdings Bhd. and Japan's Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group.
