The number of generative AI users has reached 602 million, and its application scenarios are deeply penetrating into daily life and production fields, according to the newly-released Statistical Report on China’s Internet Development.

The report shows that as of December 2025, the number of internet users in China is expected to reach 1.125 billion, with the internet penetration rate surpassing 80%.

The report also indicates that China’s digital economy is steadily growing, with the added value of core industries accounting for 10.5% of GDP.
