JD.com Opens its First Brick-and-Mortar Grocery Store in Beijing

JD.com has opened its first physical store in Xihongmen, Beijing, and attracted nearly 150,000 customer visits in three days.

Qixian Supermarket’s Beijing Xihongmen Huiju store covers an area of more than 4,000 square meters and offers featured products such as “24-hour vegetables,” “24-hour eggs,” and freshly baked goods.

According to sources close to JD.com, with the launch of the Beijing Huiju store, JD Qixian Supermarket’s industry-first “1+N” model in the retail sector—consisting of one central store plus multiple satellite mini-stores—has taken the lead in entering a scalable phase.
