China's renewable energy has accounted for over 60% of total electricity generation capacity, according to the National Energy Administration.

Newly installed wind and solar power capacity for the year exceeded 430 million kilowatts, bringing total installed capacity to more than 1.8 billion kilowatts, with renewable energy accounting for over 60% of total power generation capacity, said a spokesperson at a press conference held by the agency on Friday. In addition, renewable energy power generation reached approximately 4.0 trillion kilowatt-hours, he said.

China’s green and low-carbon transition accelerated in 2025, with 91.5% of newly installed capacity being renewable energy-powered.
