The People’s Bank of China (PBOC) set the yuan’s daily midpoint at 6.9755 per U.S. dollar, an increase of 103 basis points from the previous session’s midpoint of 6.9858.
Onshore yuan trading closed at 6.9576 at 16:30 local time, while the offshore yuan was last quoted at 6.9545 in night trading.
The stronger yuan follows a series of PBOC adjustments aimed at stabilizing the currency amid market volatility, with analysts noting that the move reflects both China's economic resilience and shifts in U.S. dollar sentiment.
