The Philippines’ Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) announced on January 21 that it will lift the ban on the AI chatbot Grok following corrective actions by Elon Musk’s AI company xAI.

DICT said xAI had contacted Philippine authorities and committed to addressing multiple issues, including the misuse of Grok for generating pornographic content. The country’s Cybercrime Investigation and Coordination Center (CICC) added that authorities will continue to closely monitor the platform to ensure compliance with local regulations.
