Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, and other Chinese smartphone brands have been added to Apple’s iPhone trade-in program, allowing owners of eligible Android devices to receive up to 4,000 yuan (about $574) off the price of a new iPhone 17 Pro in China, according to Apple’s local website.
The move expands Apple’s trade-in options beyond its own devices, aiming to make upgrading to the latest iPhone more accessible to users of popular domestic Android brands. Eligible devices are evaluated based on condition, with the maximum discount applied to higher-end models in good working order.
Apple’s program reflects its ongoing strategy to capture market share in China, the world’s largest smartphone market, by easing the upgrade process and offering financial incentives to switch from rival Android brands.
