Jan 15, 2026, 11:12 p.m. ET

JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPM.N) Chief Executive Officer Jamie Dimon said on Thursday that, if conditions allow, he would like to remain in his current role for at least another five years.

Dimon made the remarks during an event hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, noting that whether he continues to serve would ultimately depend on the board’s decision. He added that as long as he maintains energy and enthusiasm, he is willing to continue leading the bank.

Dimon has been at the helm of JPMorgan for more than two decades, and his succession has long been a focus of market attention. Following his comments, JPMorgan emphasized that Dimon’s statements were made in a lighthearted manner and that the company’s existing succession planning remains unchanged.

Dimon had previously indicated that he plans to step down within the next five years, though he has not provided a specific timeline.
