LG Electronics on Tuesday unveiled its new smart home robot CLOiD at CES 2026, showcasing what the company described as a major step toward fully autonomous, emotionally aware household assistants.

The robot is designed to connect with LG’s ecosystem of smart appliances through the company’s ThinQ platform, allowing it to coordinate and execute a wide range of domestic tasks without direct human instruction. Equipped with a dual-arm, wheeled body, CLOiD can move flexibly around the home and perform chores such as loading and unloading laundry, folding clothes, organizing refrigerators and assisting with food preparation.

According to LG, CLOiD uses a combination of multi-sensor perception and AI-driven contextual awareness to understand its environment and user behavior. Over time, the robot is able to learn household routines and proactively carry out tasks by anticipating user needs rather than waiting for commands.

“What makes CLOiD different is its ability to move beyond task execution into emotional interaction,” LG said during the product presentation.

The robot can recognize users’ emotional states and respond through voice, gestures and facial expressions, allowing it to provide companionship and emotional feedback in addition to functional assistance. LG said this capability is intended to transform smart home robots from simple tools into “living companions” that integrate more naturally into everyday life.
