A household humanoid robot called Neo drew wide attention at CES 2026, marking what its makers say is a new phase in home automation.

The robot is developed by 1X Technologies, a Norway–U.S. joint venture, and is backed by OpenAI through investment and technical support.

The company said Neo will be priced at about $20,000 and is scheduled to begin deliveries to U.S. consumers in 2026, with expansion to other markets planned for 2027.

Neo is designed to perform domestic tasks and represents one of the most advanced attempts so far to bring humanoid robots into everyday household use.
