Chinese Robotics Startup AgiBot Launches Robot Rental Platform

Dec 23, 2025, 10:27 p.m. ET

Chinese robotics startup AgiBot on Wednesday rolled out Qingtian Rent, a robot rental platform that allows customers to lease humanoid and quadruped robots for events and other commercial uses for as much as 100,000 yuan ($14,227) a day, despite ongoing uncertainty in the sector.

Robots can be rented through a WeChat mini-program for use in more than 16 scenarios, including business meetings, trade shows, concerts and weddings, AgiBot said on its official WeChat account. Prices vary depending on the use case and the robot model.

For example, the D1 Ultra quadruped robot, which is designed for security patrols, rents for about 500 yuan ($71) a day. A “sports competition” package that includes two D1 robots costs up to 99,800 yuan ($14,227) per day.

Analysts said the robot rental market still faces several challenges, including unstable pricing, strong seasonal demand fluctuations and incompatible interface standards across different brands. Whether Qingtian Rent can succeed will depend on whether its open ecosystem can address these industry bottlenecks and support a sustainable business model.
