Envision has officially begun production at its new battery gigafactory in Sunderland, the United Kingdom, with a planned annual capacity of 15.8 gigawatt-hours, the company said on Tuesday.
The facility is now the largest battery manufacturing base in the UK and is expected to provide key support for Europe’s transition to electric vehicles.
The Sunderland plant is Envision Group's third overseas factory to start operations this year, following the launch of its Douai facility in France and an energy storage production line in Tennessee in the United States.
