Nokia has completed the acquisition of the remaining shares in Shanghai Nokia Bell Co., ending the company’s status as a Sino-foreign joint venture and making it a wholly foreign-owned enterprise, the Finnish telecom equipment maker said.
Nokia said the equity transaction with China Huaxin Post and Telecommunication Technologies Co. was completed on Dec. 12, 2025, making Nokia the sole shareholder of Nokia Bell, once China’s first Sino-foreign joint venture in the telecommunications sector.
The move will help Nokia optimise its ownership structure in China, the company said. Nokia Bell will be merged into Nokia and aligned with the group’s global operating model.
Going forward, Nokia said it will continue to operate in China under the Nokia brand and business framework, reaffirming its commitment to serving Chinese customers.
