China will fall out of Germany's top five export destinations for the first time since 2010, sliding to seventh place this year as shipments are forecast to decline by 10% to 81 billion euros ($95.04 billion), a government trade agency said on Monday.
China, which ranked fifth among Germany's export markets last year, will be overtaken by both Britain and Italy, according to Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI).
The shift underscores weakening trade momentum between Europe's largest economy and its biggest Asian trading partner, as German exports to China face pressure from slower growth, intensifying local competition and broader geopolitical and economic uncertainties.
