Chinese electric vehicle maker XPeng announced on Monday that it has partnered with Malaysia's EP Manufacturing Berhad to localize production in Malacca, with mass production slated to begin in 2026.

This marks XPeng's third overseas manufacturing project and its second in the Asia-Pacific region, reflecting the company's ongoing strategy to expand production capabilities and market presence beyond China.

The partnership is expected to strengthen XPeng's supply chain in Southeast Asia, reduce logistics costs, and accelerate delivery to regional markets as demand for electric vehicles continues to grow.
