Microsoft’s consumer artificial intelligence chief, Mustafa Suleyman, said the company would stop developing advanced AI systems if they were found to endanger humanity, stressing the need to ensure future superintelligent models remain “aligned with human interests.”
“We won’t continue to develop a system that has the potential to run away from us,” Suleyman said in an interview on Bloomberg’s The Mishal Husain Show. He added that such a position should be universally accepted, even though “it’s kind of a novel position in the industry at the moment.”
