Chinese telecoms equipment maker ZTE Corp said on Thursday its board is aware of recent U.S. media reports about a potential investigation into the company’s compliance with the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).

In a filing to the Hong Kong stock exchange, ZTE said it is in ongoing communication with the U.S. Department of Justice regarding the matter and will take legal and other measures to firmly safeguard its rights and interests.

The company said it remains committed to strengthening its compliance system and aims to build what it called an industry‑leading compliance framework. ZTE reiterated its zero‑tolerance stance on all forms of corruption and bribery and said its current production and operations are normal.
