French President Macron Arrives in Beijing for 3-Day State Visit

Dec 03, 2025, 4:37 a.m. ET

French President Emmanuel Macron arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport on Wednesday, marking the start of his three-day state visit to China, his fourth official visit to China.

The visit is a return gesture following a state visit to France by Chinese President Xi Jinping last year, which commemorated the 60th anniversary of China-France diplomatic relations.

During his visit, Macron is expected to engage in high-level talks with Chinese leadership, focusing on expanding economic and political cooperation between France and China, while also discussing global issues such as climate change, international security, and multilateralism. The trip is seen as a critical moment to enhance ties between the two countries in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
