An employee of Valentino’s Greater China division has sent a whistleblower letter to the Itanlian fashion designer’s headquarters, accusing CEO Janice Lam of performance fabrication, workplace bullying, and other misconduct.
According to the letter, Lam has created a toxic corporate culture and engaged in multiple actions that violate human rights and company rules in the past three years. The letter says that after becoming CEO of Greater China in 2022, Lam allegedly inflated business results by using methods such as discount sales with costs absorbed by the company, selling to customers using employee discounts, and misrepresenting partner promotions that were in fact funded by the company.
The letter also claims that Lam frequently insulted staff with vulgar language during regular meetings and created a culture of fear that discouraged employees from expressing their opinions.
