China’s CATL and carmaker Stellantis held a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday for their joint venture to build a large lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery plant in Spain’s northeastern Aragon region.

The project, first announced last year, represents one of the biggest Chinese industrial investments in the country.
