OpenAI’s AI video-generation app Sora is incurring daily computing costs of about $15 million, an annualized burn rate of roughly $5 billion that amounts to a quarter of the company’s yearly revenue, according to analyst estimates reported by local media.
Sora, launched in late September, quickly gained traction — surpassing 1 million downloads in its first week and reaching 4 million by late October.
