Nov 24, 2025, 3:54 a.m. ET

Chinese insurers have introduced a slate of android-related insurance products as humanoid robots enter homes and public service sectors at a rapid pace, triggering worries about accidents, injuries and costly compensation claims.

Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance has unveiled policies covering risks tied to specific humanoid-robot use cases, including production and operations guarantees as well as support for research and development.

PICC Property and Casualty, meanwhile, launched a comprehensive embodied-intelligence insurance package on Sept. 28 that combines “robot body loss insurance” with third-party liability coverage. The product insures against natural disasters, accidental damage and cybersecurity incidents, and also provides coverage for pedestrian injuries caused by delivery robots and medical accidents involving robotic surgeries.
