U.S. artificial-intelligence company Genspark has raised $275 million in a Series B funding round, lifting its valuation to $1.25 billion and making it the latest AI unicorn, the company said on Friday.

The round was led by Silicon Valley venture firm Emergence Capital Partners, an early backer of Salesforce, Zoom and Box. Other investors included SBI Investment, LG Technology Ventures, Pavilion Capital and Uphonest Capital, while all existing shareholders increased their commitments.

Genspark also unveiled its new “Genspark AI Workspace,” shifting its product vision from “AI-assisted” to “AI-auto-completed” workflows. The platform is built on what the company calls a Mixture-of-Agents architecture, designed to orchestrate multiple intelligent agents to perform complex tasks.

The company’s founding team includes former executives and researchers from Microsoft, Baidu, Google and MIT. CEO Jing Kun previously served as a Baidu group vice president, CEO of Baidu’s smart-device unit Xiaodu, and was part of the founding team behind Microsoft’s Bing search.
