Ant Group’s new multimodal AI assistant “Lingguang” has surpassed 1 million downloads just four days after launch, topping Apple’s App Store China free utilities chart and ranking sixth overall.

The milestone outpaced Sora2, which took five days to reach 1 million downloads, and exceeded ChatGPT’s 606,000 installs in its first week.

Lingguang debuted with three core features — Lingguang Chat, Flash Apps and Open Eye — and highlights the ability to generate interactive, shareable “mini-apps” on mobile devices in about 30 seconds using natural-language prompts. It also supports full-modal content creation, including 3D, audio and video.

Ant Group has already initiated eight rounds of emergency capacity expansion to handle the surge in user traffic since launch.
