Research firm Gartner has released its first-ever Magic Quadrant for AI Application Development Platforms, with three Chinese vendors — Volcengine, Alibaba Cloud and Tencent Cloud — included in the rankings.

According to the report, Volcengine ranks highest among the Chinese companies, with all three placed in the “Challengers” quadrant alongside international players such as Palantir and LangChain. The “Leaders” quadrant is dominated by Google, Amazon Web Services and Microsoft.

Gartner evaluated global AI application development platform providers based on two criteria: ability to execute and completeness of vision. The firm said the new report reflects a maturing market that is beginning to differentiate as enterprise adoption accelerates.
