Saudi Arabia’s Humain to Build Gigawatt-Scale AI Data Centers With Global Tech Firms

Nov 18, 2025, 9:51 p.m. ET

Saudi AI company Humain, backed by the kingdom’s sovereign wealth fund (PIF), said it will partner with global technology firms including Amazon and AMD to build a network of gigawatt-scale data centers as part of its plan to establish Saudi Arabia as a global hub for AI computing. The partnerships were gradually disclosed at the U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum and the Future Investment Initiative (FII).

Amazon has agreed to invest more than $5 billion in a strategic collaboration with Humain to develop a dedicated “AI Zone” in the kingdom. The investment, which is separate from Amazon’s previously announced $5.3 billion commitment for Saudi data centers, will include AWS-specialized AI infrastructure and workforce training.

AMD has finalized a $10 billion agreement with Humain to deploy 500 megawatts of AI compute capacity over the next five years. The buildout will be powered by AMD’s full suite of compute chips and supported by its open-source software ecosystem.

Humain CEO Tareq Amin said the company is also in early discussions with Elon Musk’s xAI on potential data-center cooperation. The first sites in Riyadh and Dammam have already broken ground and are expected to deliver 200 megawatts of AI compute by early 2026, using the latest chips from Nvidia and Qualcomm. Under Humain’s long-term plan, total capacity will reach 1.9 gigawatts by 2030 and 6 gigawatts by 2034.
