U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said President Donald Trump’s proposal to distribute $2,000 “dividend” payments to Americans from tariff revenue would require congressional approval.

“We will see,” Bessent said Sunday on Fox News. “We need legislation for that.”
