China’s self-developed medical AI, MentX, recently achieved second place globally and first in China in the MM subset of MedXpertQA, a multimodal reasoning benchmark widely regarded as the “Olympics of medical AI.”

MentX scored an average of 70.19%, just behind GPT-5’s 72.18%, marking China’s medical AI as part of the world’s top tier.

MentX was independently developed by Yuanqi Wisdom, founded by former Baichuan Intelligence Vice President Deng Jiang, and features a chain-of-thought reasoning architecture.
