Shares in China’s lithium battery sector rallied strongly on Thursday, with more than 20 companies hitting the daily trading limit.
Key performers included Tinci Materials and Rongjie Co., while Furui Co. extended its winning streak to six consecutive limit-ups and Huasheng Lithium Battery recorded three limit-ups in six trading days.
CATL, the world’s largest battery maker, saw its stock climb as much as 8% during the session, approaching a record high. As of press time, the company’s shares were trading at 410.7 yuan, up 6.29%.
The surge followed the successful signing ceremony at the 2025 World Power Battery Conference in Yibin, Sichuan, on November 12. A total of 180 projects were inked, with a combined investment of 86.13 billion yuan ($12.1 billion), covering key green energy sectors including power batteries, next-generation energy storage, photovoltaics, and smart connected electric vehicles.
