Olympus to Cut Around 2,000 Jobs Globally

Olympus Corp. announced on Thursday plans to lay off approximately 2,000 employees worldwide, around 7% of its workforce, as part of a restructuring effort aimed at streamlining operations and speeding up global decision-making.

The company said the job cuts, which will continue through March 2027, are expected to save about 24 billion yen ($156 million) annually.
