China’s Foreign Ministry on Thursday said it expects foreign countries to provide a fair and transparent business environment after France banned Chinese e-commerce platform Shein from operating online in the country.

Spokesperson Mao Ning said specific details should be directed to relevant Chinese authorities, adding that Chinese companies are required to comply with laws and fulfill social responsibilities.
