South Korea Mulls Review of North Korea Sanctions After U.S. Crypto-Financing Link

South Korea is considering revisiting its sanctions framework on North Korea, following a new U.S. sanction linking Pyongyang’s cryptocurrency theft operations to weapons financing.

Speaking to Yonhap News TV on Thursday, Second Vice Foreign Minister Kim Ji-na said Seoul “can consider reviewing sanctions as a measure if they are really needed,” while emphasizing the importance of close coordination with the United States in addressing the digital threats posed by the North.
