Nexperia Warns of Quality Risks for China-Made Chips Amid Ownership Dispute

Nov 06, 2025, 4:04 a.m. ET

Dutch semiconductor maker Nexperia said on Thursday that it expects to resolve the ongoing crisis over control of the company, but cautioned customers that it cannot guarantee the authenticity or quality of products manufactured in China after October 13.

The company noted that its facilities outside China continue to operate normally, even as geopolitical tensions disrupt its global supply chain.

The warning follows a series of escalating actions: the Dutch government seized control of Nexperia on September 30, citing national security concerns, while the Chinese government subsequently blocked exports of its products starting October 4. The dual restrictions have led to a shortage of Nexperia chips, which are widely used by automakers and electronics manufacturers.

Nexperia said it remains in dialogue with relevant authorities and is working toward restoring normal operations and supply stability.
