Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said in an interview on Wednesday that “China will win the artificial intelligence race,” attributing the country’s potential success to a more favorable regulatory environment and lower energy costs.

He also criticized Western approaches to AI governance, calling them “cynicism that hinders progress.” Huang warned that a wave of new AI regulations across U.S. states could create “50 different sets of rules,” potentially stifling innovation and competition in the field.
