China Suspends 24% Tariff on U.S. Imports, Keeps 10% Rate

China will pause its 24% additional tariff on U.S. goods for one year while maintaining a 10% levy, the State Council Tariff Commission announced Wednesday, following last week’s meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump.

The commission also said that, starting November 10, China—the world’s largest agricultural importer—will remove certain tariffs of up to 15% on U.S. agricultural products.
