Nvidia’s cutting-edge Blackwell processor for artificial intelligence will not be made available to “other people,” U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday, signaling a firm stance on restricting access to the world’s most powerful AI chips.
Nvidia, now the world’s most valuable company, dominates the global market for AI semiconductors.
Trump’s remarks come amid ongoing speculation over whether his administration would permit shipments of a modified Blackwell chip to China. In August, he had hinted that sales of a scaled-down version of Nvidia’s next-generation GPU might be allowed, but his latest comments suggest a tougher line on technology exports.
