Samsung Electronics announced Friday that it is in “close discussion” to supply its next-generation high-bandwidth memory (HBM4) chips to Nvidia, as the South Korean tech giant seeks to strengthen its position in the competitive AI chip market.
The company, which plans to launch the new HBM4 chips next year, did not provide a specific timeline for when shipments to Nvidia might begin. HBM chips are a critical component in powering artificial intelligence processors, making them a key factor in the global race for AI hardware leadership.
