Tesla will unveil its Cybercab at the China International Import Expo in Shanghai from November 5–10, marking the robotaxi’s first appearance in the Asia-Pacific region, Vice President Tao Lin said in a Weibo post Thursday.

It remains unclear whether Tesla plans to deploy the Cybercab on Chinese roads.

The autonomous vehicle, first revealed by Elon Musk in October last year, had a soft launch in Austin in June with invite-only access and human safety monitors, and is slated for mass production next year.

The Shanghai showcase comes as Chinese firms like Baidu and Pony AI have been testing robotaxis in multiple cities for several years.
