Nvidia made history on Wednesday morning, becoming the first company ever to reach a $5 trillion market capitalization at the market open.
Shares of the tech giant jumped about 4.4% to nearly $210 in early trading, giving the company a valuation of roughly $5.1 trillion.
The record-setting milestone came after CEO Jensen Huang announced that Nvidia expects $500 billion in AI chip orders over the next four years and plans to build seven supercomputers for the U.S. Department of Energy.
