China’s state-owned COFCO has bought three U.S. soybean cargoes this week, marking the country’s first purchases from this year’s U.S. harvest ahead of the upcoming summit between President Donald Trump and President Xi Jinping, according to two trade sources.

The purchases total roughly 180,000 metric tons, with deliveries scheduled for December and January via Pacific Northwest port terminals, the sources added.
